NETWORK: Family Faith Formation: It Takes a Village
January 12
$15Thursday January 12, 2023
7 pm – 9 pm Eastern ONLY
We have all heard (and maybe even said) before: “we only see families for sacraments,” and “we have lost them after grade eight.” Often these comments are the experiences of frustrated ministry leaders and volunteers, disengaged families, and in some cases – burn out. What if these challenges, as real and valid as they are, are communicating a common, deeper longing? Perhaps there is something, or rather someone, that parishes long to share with all people but feel limited in their opportunities. Similarly, perhaps there is something more than routine catechetical moments that families and arguably all persons are longing for, regardless of how engaged or disengaged they are in their local parish. This workshop will explore the unique and complimentary roles of home, school, and parish in transmitting the Christian faith, as well as practical approaches to whole family faith formation.
